Region II EMS Inc. is a private, not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation.
Our Vision is for an efficient, collaborative, and effective emergency health
services system in southwestern New Mexico that reduces morbidity and mortality.
Our Mission is to provide resources throughout our
Region and its greater communities. These resources will
contribute to the maintenance, implementation and development of a
comprehensive emergency
health services system through the support of practitioners, organizations,
local and regional systems, and state and federal programs. Our
primary program areas include:

Emergency Medical Services
- the development and support of EMS providers throughout the
region, including emergency medical dispatchers, emergency medical
technicians, paramedics, nurses, physicians, dispatch centers, first
response agencies, ambulance services, and hospitals. This
includes the support of local and regional committees that provide
for system performance improvement and coordination. In
addition, Region II serves to facilitate involvement in an EMS
Registry and the delivery of licensing exam opportunities for EMTs.

Trauma Systems - the
development and support of a system of care for patients affected by
traumatic injuries. This includes support of hospitals
participating in the New Mexico Trauma Registry as well as those
wishing to develop into Designated Trauma Centers. In
addition, our staff is integrally involved in the Far West Texas -
Southern New Mexico Region Advisory Council on Trauma.

Health Emergency Preparedness
- the participation in and support of integrated emergency
operations plans that include Health and Medical annexes. This
includes participation in Local Emergency Planning Committees
throughout the region, as well as direct development and evaluation
of plans.

Education and Training
- the coordination and delivery of health education and training for health care professionals and lay
persons. This includes the delivery of an annual conference
which provides continuing education and communication opportunities
for health providers throughout the state and nation. In
addition, Region II is a Certified Training Center recognized by the
American Heart Association for the delivery of basic CPR training
and advanced cardiac and pediatric life support courses.
We see our stakeholders as all those with an interest in our
emergency care system. These range from local, state and federal
policy makers, to consumers, to all those who actual provide care to patients on
the individual or organizational level.
